1963 Nat King Cole Record Store Display Christmas Song
This is an original record store standee made by Capitol Records to advertise the 1963 Nat King Cole LP - The Christmas Song. The standee is a cover that had the front slick. The cover did not have a back slick on it and the back is blank. the standee does not have any opening on the right edge (as an album cover would have). It also does not have any printing on the spine. The blank back cover was machine cut, so that a flap on the back could be swung out and the cover could sit upright on record store counters or in its window. The back cover also had tabs cut at the top and bottom so that the record store owner could flip the top and bottom one out to tape or tac it up to the wall. The standee is in excellent condition - the easel on the back has never been set up - there are a couple very small creases in the upper left hand corner. I purchased this about 15 years ago when I cleaned out an old record store that had been open for over 50 years. I purchased many promotional displays that had been sitting in the back of the store, some were from the 1940s! A HARD-TO-FIND NAT KING COLE PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY THAT YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN IN THE STORES BACK IN 1963! Postage is $6.00.
