1990 Jack Higgins Original Editorial Cartoon Art Nelson Mandela Apartheid
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1990. The raised fist represents Nelson Mandela, who was released from prison in February of 1990. I'm not sure who the other hand represents, though it does have a "B" on the cufflink, so the "B" could be for former President P.W. Botha. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/4" x 13-1/4". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. On the back you can see a preliminary sketch for another Higgins cartoon showing what looks like Illinois Governor James Thompson. The artwork is in good condition - there are some light corrections and touch-ups on the art - there are a few small marks/smudges on the art. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989.
