1987 Bernhard Goetz Inkblot Test NYC Subway Vigilante Jack Higgins Editorial Art
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1987. The artwork has the caption "Goetz Inkblot Test" with voice balloons calling out "Vigilante!", "Racist!" and "Hero!". On the back there is an ink stamp date of "Jun 17, '87" (Which was the day after the jury announced its verdict) (Looking through a light through the back, it looks like the artist originally started the caption with an "R..... Test" instead of "Goetz", so maybe he was going to originally use "Rorschach Test" as the caption) The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 17-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are some corrections and touch-ups on the art - there are a few small marks/smudges/light dirt on the art - on the back there are some editor notes and some ink migration from artwork stacked under it. A POWERFUL, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT IS AS RELEVANT TODAY AS IT WAS 32 YEARS AGO! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for a few other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
