1984 Jack Higgins Original Editorial Cartoon Art Tribute to George Gallup Poll
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1984. The artwork shows pollster George Gallup, clipboard in hand, about to enter the gates of heaven. The voice balloon reads "Welcome, Mr. Gallup! Here there is no "Margin of error!" This would have been published shortly after George Gallup's death on July 26, 1984. The artwork measures approx. 11-3/4" x 15-5/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there is an approx 5" x 2" area through the voice balloon and 2-1/2" below it that is darkened from art that was stored underneath which migrated - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - there are editor notes written on the back - there is some toning / dust along the right edge (see photo) - the artist's work shows, with some minor corrections as the piece was crafted - on the back there is ink that has migrated from other artwork that was stored beneath it. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for a few other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
