2003 Augusta Masters Tournament Protest Women Excluded Golf Club Orig Cartoon
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 2003. The artwork probably came out in April when a protest was organized at the Augusta National Golf Club during the 2003 Masters Tournament. Checking the internet I found that the protest was organized by Martha Burk of the National Council of Women's Organizations ( NCWO ) because Augusta National did not admit female members. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/4" x 16". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - you can see where the artist made some touch-ups to the art - there is a small bend (1/4" x 1") along the upper left border, plus a small (1/4") tear/split - there is some light dirt on the back. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK / TRIBUTE TO A CHICAGO LEGEND THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for some other original artwork by Jack Higgins.
