1986 Mission Impeachable Ronald Reagan Iran Contra Orig Cartoon Art Impossible
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1986. It is date stamped on the back Dec 3 '86 so it was probably used the next day. This great cartoon is a take-off on the old Mission Impossible TV show with President Ronald Reagan (as Mr Phelps) in the phone booth while the Mission Impossible tape plays "...this mission will be disavowed and your administration could self-destruct in 2 months..." referring to the Iran Contra Affair. Mission Impeachable? The artwork measures approx. 12-1/2" x 17-5/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created and you can see where the artist made corrections as he crafted his work. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/light dirt on the art - there is some light dirt / toning along the lower right border - there are some notes on the back written by the editor - there is some ink transfer on the back from artwork that was stored under this art. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator.
