1999 Solar Eclipse Stirs World Markets DOW Stocks Orig Cartoon Art Wall Street
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1999. The artwork deals with the solar eclipse causing "bad juju" on world markets. (Checking the internet I found that the solar eclipse occurred on Wednesday, August 11, 1999 and was a total eclipse visible from parts of Europe) The editor notes along the top include "Friday" so this most likely was published two days after the eclipse. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-3/8". On the back of it there is a preliminary drawing for this cartoon. This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few notes by the editor on the top margin including the dimensions for the image only. in the upper right corner - there are a couple light marks / smudges - you can see some corrections that the artist made has he crafted the art. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for a few other cartoons by Jack Higgins.
