1999 Old Hippie Changing Priorities Orig Editorial Cartoon Art War Disco Love
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1999. The artwork shows the various protest signs from the 1960s thru 2000: "Free the Chicago 7", "Pigs", "..."Hey LBJ", "Stop the War", "Disco Sucks", "Free Love (crossed out to read Free ATMs)" and "Free Viagra". The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few notes by the layout editor on the bottom margin - there are a couple light marks / smudges - you can see some corrections that the artist made has he crafted the art - there is some light dirt along the right border - there are a few words written lightly in the upper right border that look like "Tune In" "Drop Out" and a couple words between that I can't make out. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for some other original artwork by Jack Higgins.
