1996 Chicago Bears Try Replace Kicker Kevin Butler Orig Cartoon Art Jack Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1996. The artwork deals with the Chicago Bears releasing their kicker, Kevin Butler (last of the 1985 Super Bowl Bears), just before the 1996 season started. The replacement lasted only 3 games before being released. (Notice the "Beavis Auditions" sign in the window in the background, an allusion to Kevin "Butthead" Butler's nickname.) The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks / light dirt on the art - there are layout editor notes written along the bottom margin - you can see where the artist made some corrections as he crafted his work - there is some light dirt along the left border - there is a 1" diagonal crease in the lower right corner - there are smaller bends in the other corners - on the back there is some light ink transfer from artwork that was stacked beneath it. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins.
