1986 Hands Across America Ronald Reagan Poverty Cuts Orig Cartoon Art J Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1986. The artwork deals with the May, 1986 Hands Across America public fundraising event to help fight hunger and homelessness. Since Reagan took office $20 billion had been cut from programs housing the poor. The artwork measures approx. 11-3/4" x 17-5/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created and you can see where the artist made corrections as he crafted his work. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/light dirt on the art - there is some light dirt / toning along the lower right border - there are some notes on the back written by the layout editor - there is some ink transfer on the back from artwork that was stored under this art - on the bottom of the back there is a 3-1/2" x 3/4" area with a sticker/sticker residue/surface tear. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins. If you want more than one, e-mail me and I can combine the postage.
