2003 Annika Sorenstam Golfs PGA Vijay Singh Skips Orig Cartoon Art Jack Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 2003. The artwork deals with Annika Sorenstam becoming the first woman to play in a PGA event (in May, 2003 at the Bank of America Colonial) since Babe Didrikson Zacarias had in 1945. A few players were critical of the decision including Vijay Singh, who decided to skip the Colonial. (Check online for the details of the controversy.) The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - the artist's work shows, with some corrections as the piece was crafted - there is some light dirt around the lower left border. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins. If you want more than one, e-mail me so I can combine the postage.
