1980 Presidential Cand Sen Ted Kennedy Loses Iowa Orig Cartoon Art Jack Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Daily Northwestern editorial cartoon dated 1980. The art shows Democratic presidential hopeful Ted Kennedy on a teeter-tauter after losing the Iowa caucuses to President Jimmy Carter (even though Carter had skipped a debate in Iowa and appearances there in the weeks before the caucuses). The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 17-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. You can see where the artist made corrections as he crafted the art (a vertical line of white-out to the right of Ted's left arm and one near the bottom). The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/light dirt on the art - there are some editor notes written on the back - there is some light dirt along the edges - there is ink transfer on the back from artwork that was stored under this art - there is some light dirt on the back. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins. If you want more than one, e-mail me and I can combine the postage.
