1994 Chicago CHA Tenants Want Weapon Sweeps v ACLU Orig Cartoon Art Jack Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1994. The artwork deals with a Federal judge who had ruled for the American Civil Liberties Union representing four CHA tenants who objected to random weapon sweeps in public housing. Rising shootings led the majority of tenant representatives of the CHA to ask the judge to allow the weapon sweeps to help stop the shooting. The artwork measures approx. 11-3/8" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - there are editor notes written along the left edge - there is a small scribble in the upper right hand corner - there is a 1/2" diagonal crease in the lower left hand corner - the tip of the upper left corner has a small bump - the bottom edge is a little uneven. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator.
