2010 Leaving Iraq Welcome to Chicago Shootings Original Cartoon Art Jack Higgins
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 2010. The art shows a bullet-riddled "Leaving Iraq" sign (as the last U.S. soldiers were leaving Iraq) and a "Welcome to Chicago, Richard M. Daley Mayor for now" sign. The Chicago sign is also bullet riddled and has active shots going through it. This was probably from around September, 2010 as the last U.S. troops left Iraq in August and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley announced in September that he was not going to run for another term. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges/ light dirt on the art - you can see where the artist made some touch-ups to the art. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my other listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins. If you want more than one, e-mail me so I can combine the postage.
