1998 Chicago Aldermen Ethics Law Orig Cartoon Art Jack Higgins Santa Claus Haul
This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1998. The artwork probably refers to the closing of a loophole in Chicago's ethics law regarding aldermen requiring them to disclose relationships they have with individuals or businesses seeking contracts with the city, along with a few other stipulations. ("Deck the Halls" with the building labeled as "City Haul") News reports from 1998 mention that the loophole was supposedly directed at one particular alderman. The artwork measures approx. 11-3/8" x 14-1/2". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges on the art - the artist's work shows, with some corrections as the piece was crafted - there are some layout editor's notes written on the bottom border. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator. Jack Higgins has worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for over 35 years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1989. Check out my listings for more cartoons by Jack Higgins.
