ALABAMA FOOTBALL BEAR BRYANT LIFTING GENE STALLINGS '68 COTTON BOWL FRAMED PHOTO
The 1968 Cotton Bowl Classic, part of the 1967 bowl game season, took place on January 1, 1968, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The #8 Alabama Crimson Tide, coached by Paul "Bear" Bryant took on the Texas A&M Aggies coached by none other than Gene Stallings. Texas A&M won the game 2016.
Coach Gene Stallings was both a former player and assistant coach under Bryant and was carried off the field to celebrate the victory by Bryant himself!! It was the happiest Bear had ever been after a loss, as his protege' proved his might with a victory over his one time mentor! What a great photo celebrating this moment. This photo is Professionally framed in a 1 1/2" Dark Cherry moulding with a gold lip and double matted in a Crimson Suede matting with a black inner matte with glass and backing. It measures approximately 14 X 18 and has a bronze engraved plate in the bottom margin that reads: COTTON BOWLJANUARY 1, 1968 TEXAS A&M 20, (#8) ALABAMA 16.
Any item shown with a painted Alabama "A" coin inset in the matting will be substituted for an appropriate Alabama commemorative coin that benefits the print itself as the painted coin is sold out at the moment. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions please contact us at 2059402202
