The game was the 1993 Sugar Bowl for the National Championship of college football between the heavily favored number 1 team in the country: The Miami Hurricanes, and the number two underdog's: The Alabama Crimson Tide.

Bama wasn't given much of a chance against the power of the 'Canes passing attack led by the Heisman Trophy winner, Gino Toretta and receiver Lamar Thomas. But Bama's defense stepped up to the challenge just as it did all year long, led by Curry, Copeland, and one of the fastest men on the field, Montgomery, Alabama native, George Teague.

Toretta launched a bomb to Lamar Thomas and Thomas had Bama's defensive backfield beat and was on his way for a TD when Teague literally RAN THOMAS DOWN AND TOOK THE BALL AWAY FROM HIM FROM BEHIND!!!!

The crowd was amazed and the 'Canes were completely stunned. This play was the deciding factor in breaking Miami's spirit, even though the play was called back for an offsides penalty. It really didn't matter, the mental damage was done and this play sticks out in the minds of Bama fan's as the defining play of that game and the entire year. Bama won and was crowned the National Champions of that year.
