MOVIE POSTER BUSINESS 200K IN SALES A YEAR 4 MILLION DOLLAR INVENTORY
Welcome to the auction of a movie poster and memorabilia business . It is located in Los Angeles, California. An overview of its assets are apprx 300,000 - 375,000 all original one sheet size movie posters, about 50 metal tube racks that cost about 200 dollars each to manufacture, at least 100,000 original 1950s-1970s and also restrikes on 1980s fiber paper of film classics 8 by 10 photo's and lobby cards originals apprx 60 percent restrikes and 40 percent originals . Apprx. 10,000 11 by 14 inch lobby cards , many very expensive , very many not -all or almost all already listed on my website . 3000 presskits almost all with photos but like 5 percent with dvd's . 1900 to 1980 one sheets are in there own section apprx. 15,000 stored on 960 display boards about 15 in each on average . This section is the most sellable the fastest and for the most apprx. $500,000 retail . The 11 by 14 inch lobby card section I estimate is $75,000 retail . The 100,000 8 by 10 inch lobbies and photos I estimate is $200,000 retail . The fixtures including the metal racks and shelving, etc.. $25,000 in replacement value . Other inventory assets comic books, trading cards, space patches, magazines, coca cola trays,etc 75,000 . and finally the main inventory apprx. 300,000 rolled original one sheet size movie posters apprx 50 percent are 2 sided with a retail value of $3,000,000 for a total for everything of apprx $4,000,000 . I left out mentioning the display boards and posters in the 6 stores I sell thru and 15 racks in the warehouse with the alphabetical index orders are pulled from and misc. inventory like mini-standees, window cling sets, and several others . If you were to price these assets for the webste prices of a moviegoods.com or movieposter.com or most others the retail value at the way they price stuff would be certainly more then 10 million . My prices as on Ebay and in the stores I am in very sucessfully for more then 20 years on average these assets create $200,000 a year in sales being only very fractionally represented something like less then 50 percent by volume . So sale could be very greatly increased by simply for instance increasing the Ebay store from 3000 to 30000 items by having most of the posters, lobbies and photo's on it. Don't compare my operation with the usual very poorly organized movie poster bucsiness with leftover garbage they'd love to dump on you . Available in a excel document is a good approxiamation of whats in the warehouse title by title and almost all posters are stored in white boxes that open lengthwise . .All other countries add $14 for shipping plus a additional dollar fifty shipping for every extra poster .
