Napoleon, the classic 1927 Abel Gance French Napoleonic military war melodrama starring Albert Dieudonne (as the famous French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte), Paul Amiot, Annabella (born Suzanne Georgette Charpentier in France, she appeared in "Napoleon" in 1927 and became a major French star; in 1938, she made "Suez" with Tyrone Power, and afterwards married him, and remained in Hollywood for nine years, and was always billed simply as "Annabella"), and Antonin Artaud and features Alan Talm artwork. This film was restored in 1981 with a brand new musical score by Carl Davis and produced by Francis Ford Coppola. On January 23, 1981 Radio City Music Hall in NYC , "Napoleon", restored, and reconstructed, not seen for over fifty years, was debuting in front of 6,000 people packed into the great theater with Carmine Coppolla conducting a huge orchestra rising up on the lift as lighting cast fifty foot shadows of the conductor on the walls. The score was magnificent. By the end of the film when the tryptyches stretched the size of the screen to triple size filling the glorious famous sunburst proscenium, Radio City Music Hall erupted in a standing ovation - and Kevin Brownlow, who restored the film, at that very moment from the theater had Abel Gance (soon to die) live on the phone from France to hear the ovation! Just incredible. Glorious. THIS EXTREMELY RARE POSTER WAS FOR THIS RERELEASE PREMIERE SHOWING !! AND WAS PRINTED IN EXTREMELY LIMITED QUANTITIES!!!!. THERE IS A MUCH MORE COMMON VERSION THAT WAS PRODUCED FOR THE GENERAL RERELEASE and for whatever reason they did not print this poster full size , it is slightly smaller then a regular one sheet . I have not measured it exactly but in the roll I keep them in a roll that has the regular one sheet for this rerelease it seems about a couple inches short in height and width. If you find this poster on other website's it seems to be priced from $75 to $250. Add $11 for shipping IN A VERY THICK TUBE to your winning bid. THESE RATES ARE FOR USA CUSTOMERS ONLY! .All other countries add $25 to your winning bid for shipping plus $1.50 each for extra posters.
