Welcome to the auction of a absolutely guaranteed original near mint condition American 81 by 81 inch folded but now linenbacked 6 sheet movie poster for THE JAMES DEAN STORY . The James Dean Story, the 1957 Robert Altman & George W. George biographical documentary compilation featuring footage "unobtainable anywhere else" starring James Dean, featuring Clark Gable, Dennis Hopper, Rock Hudson, Jayne Mansfield, and narrated by Martin Gabel. This poster recently went in lessor condition for $263 in a Bruce Hershenson auction ended Nov. 29th 2005 , this copy wasn't linenbacked as this is which costs $3-$400 . I've owned this piece for almost 20 years now since I bought it from John Hazelton and have very rarely seen one come up for sale , this poster really really has an impact in person , keep in mind the poster is almost 7 feet tall and so almost is Dean's big head! I've borrowed Bruce's photo but please realize IT IS LINENBACKED AND LOOKS MUCH MUCH MUCH NICER !!! THAN THIS PHOTO APPEARS AS IT NO LONGER HAS ANY FOLD LINES OR 99.9 % LESS THAN THIS PHOTOS MAKES IT LOOK LIKE. The impoact this poster makes in person cannot be conveyed in words , I have never seen a poster in person have more ,it's really a very powerful piece and this little photo of a folded poster conveys nothing compared to the stark reality of the 7 foot high in person poster .
