Welcome to the auction of a absolutely guaranteed original linenbacked fine condition American 22 by 28 inch original 1934 or rerelease 1937 folded half sheet movie poster for IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT , the movie stars CLARK GABLE and CLAUDETTE COLBERT. I do not know if this is a original release 1934 or the rerelease 1937 half sheet. THE PHOTO 3RD FROM THE LEFT WAS THE BEFORE RESTORATION APPEARANCE. The big photo of Gable's face is meant to show you the restored creases appearance. The copyright 1934 on the bottom left has the number 4 in 1934 looking like either a 4 or a 7 - and must of been meant as one or the other - see the last photo on the right . Wether the studio back then changed the copyright date for the rerelease or not I dont know, I dont think the copyright date changes for rerelease purposes , right? so perhaps this is a original release poster and all look like this . If you can inform me about the practice back then I'd appreciate it, in any case the price is the same as paper on this title is extremely rare. I was told by one very experienced dealer Bruce Hershenson he has seen this before and that studios did this back then in the thirties for the rerelease so this would indicate it is a first rerelease 1937 poster .
