Big Natural Gilalite Paraiba Medusa Quartz Crystal Specimen
Gilalite
aka Paraiba Quartz aka Medusa Quartz
This is a natural gilalite included quartz specimen, which is also known as Medusa quartz and Paraiba quartz. A rare mineral, it is even more unusual to come across it before it has been slabbed and readied for cabbing. We found one lot that was still uncut and were allowed to hand-pick about half of it (saving it from the master cutter who was good enough to sell it to us).
This Gilalite in quartz specimen is from the Ceara region of Brazil. It is a wedge shaped partial crystalline entity with a large elestial facet backed by a partial elestial face.
There is an impressive layer of gilalite between the facet and the lower quartz as well as an additional pocket near the base.
It measures 4 by 3 1/2 by up to 1 5/8 and weighs 1 1/4 pounds. There are surface empathy nicks around the front face
and a warrior scar on the back face.
Gilalite, named after Gila County, Arizona where the mineral was first discovered, is a rare mineral in any form. Current information tells us that only a small deposit in Brazil has produced gilalite in quartz that can be cut into gemstones.
Gilalite is said to be a stone for fantasy and adventure, bringing an energy of eager willingness. It is also said to bring strength to ones words and charisma to ones character. In addition, it is said to encourage pure, enduring love.
