This quartz crystal with ajoite,
from the Messina Copper Mine
in Messina District,
Limpopo Province, South Africa
is a model of subtlety.
At a glance it does not
come across as imposing,
but the more one examines it,
the more one finds to enjoy
and be enchanted by.
There is a subtle phantom
visible beneath the termination.
The ajoite presents itself as
pale clouds of color
below the facets.
There are also white inclusions
in a cloudlike formation
further giving the upper crystal
a serene aura...
a feeling of floating in the clouds.
The crystal is
a nice handful of quartz
with a diagonal base extending up
almost to the side facet.
The base is elestial and
the crystal is a floater formation.
There are empathy nicks
along the edges of
the facets and the shafts
This tantalizing crystal is
3 7/8" along the longer edge,
1 3/4" wide and
weighs 8 ounces.
Ajoite is known as a very loving
